Setting the Record Straight

The Beginning and Tradition of Thanksgiving

Why is this important: There are many factions, mostly on the far left of the American political spectrum who believe that the celebrators of the first thanksgiving, killed Indians, took their food, and took of the Indians as slaves.  Let’s set the record straight.

The Facts

The group that set out from Plymouth, in southwestern England, in September 1620 included 35 members of a radical Puritan faction known as the English Separatist Church. In 1607, after illegally breaking from the Church of England, the Separatists settled in the Netherlands, first in Amsterdam and later in the town of Leiden, where they remained for the next decade under the relatively lenient Dutch laws. Due to economic difficulties, as well as fears that they would lose their English language and heritage, they began to make plans to settle in the New World. Their intended destination was a region near the Hudson River, which at the time was thought to be part of the already established colony of Virginia. In 1620, the would-be settlers joined a London stock company that would finance their trip aboard the Mayflower, a three-masted merchant ship, in 1620.

The native inhabitants of the region around Plymouth Colony were various tribes of the Wampanoag people, who had lived there for some 10,000 years before the Europeans arrived. In the fall of 1621, the Pilgrims famously shared a harvest feast with the Pokanokets; the meal is now considered the basis for the first Thanksgiving holiday.

The pilgrims held the first Thanksgiving feast to celebrate the successful fall harvest. Celebrating a fall harvest was an English tradition at the time and the pilgrims had much to celebrate.

The 53 pilgrims at the first Thanksgiving were the only colonists to survive the long journey on The Mayflower and the first winter in the New World. Disease and starvation struck down half of the original 102 who set sail

These pilgrims made it through that first winter and, with the help of the local Wampanoag tribe, they had a hearty supply of food to sustain them through the next winter. The feast celebrated by the pilgrims in 1621 was never actually called “Thanksgiving” by the colonists. It was simply a harvest celebration.

The Continental Congress declared the first national Thanksgiving on December 18, 1777. In 1789, George Washington declared the last Thursday in November to be the national celebration of Thanksgiving. These were both declarations and not official holidays.

The current date celebrated as Thanksgiving was driven by retailers. In 1939, the last Thursday of November would fall on November 30. Retailers complained to FDR that this only left twenty-four shopping days before Christmas and begged him to push Thanksgiving just one week earlier. It was determined that most people do their Christmas shopping after Thanksgiving and retailers hoped that with an extra week of shopping, people would buy more. FDR declared that a National Day of Thanksgiving would be celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November.

For most, Thanksgiving is a non-religious holiday. It is a time to pause with family and friends to give thanks.

NEW YORK, NY – NOVEMBER 11: People cheer veterans in the nation’s largest Veterans Day Parade in New York City on November 11, 2015 in New York City. Known as “America’s Parade” it features over 20,000 participants, including veterans of numerous eras, military units, businesses and high school bands and civic and youth groups. Veterans Day

Honoring our Veterans

Why is this important: Veterans Day in the United States is a special day for Americans to say thank you to the men and women who have defended the freedom, liberty, and people of America. This is not to be confused with Memorial Day, which occurs on the fourth Monday of May. Memorial Day is set aside to morn and remember those in the armed services who died defending our freedom. Veterans day was originally called Armistice Day marking the end of World War I. Armistice Day was changed to Veterans Day in 1954 to honor all veterans who served in the armed services.

The Facts

Veterans Day is always observed on November 11, the day that World War I ended.

The American Flag should be flown at half mast and a period of silence of two minutes should be observed at 11am. World War ended in the 11th month on the 11th day at 11O’clock.

A wreath-laying ceremony takes place in Arlington National Cemetery at the Tomb of The Unknown Soldier typically by the President of the United States.

Veterans Day is a federal holiday.

While Veterans Day as Veteran’s Day or Veterans’ Day in calendars and advertisements, the United States Department of Veterans Affairs website states that the attributive (no apostrophe) rather than the possessive case is the official spelling “because it is not a day that ‘belongs’ to veterans, it is a day for honoring all veterans.”

Woodrow Wilson inaugurated the first Armistice Day on November 11, 1919, and gave the following address to the country

The White House, November 11, 1919.

A year ago, today our enemies laid down their arms in accordance with an armistice which rendered them impotent to renew hostilities, and gave to the world an assured opportunity to reconstruct its shattered order and to work out in peace a new and juster set of international relations. The soldiers and people of the European Allies had fought and endured for more than four years to uphold the barrier of civilization against the aggressions of armed force. We ourselves had been in the conflict something more than a year and a half.

With splendid forgetfulness of mere personal concerns, we remodeled our industries, concentrated our financial resources, increased our agricultural output, and assembled a great army, so that at the last our power was a decisive factor in the victory. We were able to bring the vast resources, material and moral, of a great and free people to the assistance of our associates in Europe who had suffered and sacrificed without limit in the cause for which we fought.

Out of this victory there arose new possibilities of political freedom and economic concert. The war showed us the strength of great nations acting together for high purposes, and the victory of arms foretells the enduring conquests which can be made in peace when nations act justly and in furtherance of the common interests of men.

To us in America the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service, and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of nations.

Setting The Record Straight… Che Guevara

Ernesto “Che” Guevara

Communist Revolutionary, Murderer,
Homophobe, Racist, Pedophile and Rapist

Why is this important: Many people on the far left in the United States and other
countries, see Guevara as a defender of the poor and a revolutionary fighting for freedom and people’s rights.

Today one can find Guevara t-shirts in stores and
online for purchase. Let’s set the record straight.

Born: June 14, 1928
Death: October 9, 1967, Guevara was captured on October 8, 1967, by CIA trained Bolivian military forces and executed the same day.

Guevara was attempting to bring a Cuban style Communist evolution to Bolivia.

The Facts

Guevara saw death as a necessity for revolution, showing no regard for human life.

Guevara referred to gay men as sexual perverts and took great pleasure in torturing and murdering them.

Guevara murdered with his own hand at least 216 people during the Castro’s revolution between 1957-59.

Guevara help start the first Cuban concentration camp in Guanahacabibes in 1960.

The first of many under Castro. The camps adopted the Auschwitz motto “Work Will Set You Free” Anyone who committed a crime against revolutionary
communist morals were sent there. Most of the prisoners were tortured, raped, and murdered.

Guevara was a racist stating “Africans had maintained their racial purity because of their “lack of affinity with bathing;” an ironic statement given his notoriously poor personal hygiene. He also said: “The black is indolent and a dreamer; spending his meager wage on frivolity or drink.”

Guevara had sex with underaged girls and treated women like possessions. and objects to be used as his own slaves.
Guevara was a medic in Fidel Castro’s Revolutionary army.

Guevara NEVER held a medical degree.

Ernesto “Che” Guevara was not a freedom fighter. Backed by the Soviet Union, He fought for communist revolution which allowed Fidel Castro to come to power.

Guevara spread the revolution to Bolivia until his capture in October of 1967. Guevara is not to be revered or honored. He was a criminal and murderer. Beware
of the motives of those who honor him. The merit of Marx is that he suddenly produces a qualitative change in the history of social thought.

“He interprets history, understands its dynamic, predicts the future, but in addition to predicting it
(which would satisfy his scientific obligation), he expresses a revolutionary concept: the world must
not only be interpreted, it must be transformed. Man ceases to be the slave and tool of his
environment and converts himself into the architect of his own destiny.”

Celebrating Winston 146th Birthday

I am frequently asked, “Why Churchill.” The reference of course is to my dedication and admiration of the great man. My standard answer to people who I know don’t know Churchill is that he made a ton of mistakes and then saved the free world. That is indeed an extremely short answer considering all his accomplishments.

I had a high school coach whose philosophy was you either win or learn. This  had nothing to do with the “everyone’s a winner” fallacy. His point was well taken and that was his coaching style. This also encompasses Churchill’s life as well.

People who sit back and do nothing never make mistakes, never grow personally, or fulfill their potential as human beings.  We can safely say that Churchill fulfilled several lifetimes.

Although Churchill was wrong about many things, In many cases I don’t believe that he was wrong but only in opposition. Never afraid to speak his mind. Never afraid to ask others what was on their mind. Never afraid to act when action was needed.

Churchill once told his wife Clementine at if he had not made mistakes, he may not have made anything. Is it possible that his early mistakes were his greatest gift? Certainly, his greatest attribute was the ability to learn from his mistakes and apply them to his future greatness.

His wicked wit, his boldness in speech and actions set him up for long years in the 1930’s.  Stanley Baldwin’s meekness, Chamberlin’s arrogance, and the Holy Fox – Lord Halifax’s peace at any cost mentality, turned the Conservatives against the truth and the truth bearer, Churchill.

Would Hitler have been stopped if Churchill were Prime Minister in 1936? We can only speculate. In the end the unnecessary war became necessary and the man whom at an early age, predicted that he would be called upon to save Britain not only did that but also saved the free world.

Do great men come only once in a lifetime? With today’s cancel culture, overt political correctness, and young people having tremendous un-understanding of the world, I sure hope great men come frequently, but looking at the horizon it may be up to our grandchildren to straighten this all out.

Happy 146th Sir Winston Spencer Churchill. May long live your memory, your foibles, and your victories. Your life has been a life lesson for all of us.

People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals – PETA

PETA Murders Animals

Why is This Important: PETA claims they stand for treating animals ethically and with dignity. PETA has the highest kill rate of any animal shelter or animal organization. PETA feels that the best way to comfort a homeless animal is to kill them. PETA has campaigned against having animals as pets. John Bryant, a representative of PETA stated that “The cat like the dog, must disappear.”

The Facts

PETA’s kill rate of animals handed over to them for care is nearly 90%

PETA has labeled milk as a “racist drink” because some races have a high level of lactose intolerance

PETA demanded that the ice cream maker Ben and Jerry’s replace cow milk with human milk in their products.

PETA claims that fast food outlets and slaughterhouses should be blown up by activists.

PETA has kidnapped animals from people’s property and then euthanized them.

PETA has given grants to arsonist Rodney Coronado and the eco-terrorist group Earth Liberation Front.

PETA had a campaign called “Holocaust on Your Plate.” Comparing Jewish victims of the Holocaust to farm animals.

PETA created a porn site and then exposed unsuspecting visitors with photos of slaughtered animals.

PETA published pamphlets for children called “Mommy Kills Animals”

Consistent with radical left-wing activities, celebrities who support PETA don’t follow PETA’s manifesto:

  • Pamela Anderson’s Dodge Viper (auctioned to benefit PETA) had a “luxurious leather interior.”
  • Jenna Jameson was photographed fishing, slurping oysters, and wearing a leather jacket just weeks after launching an anti-leather campaign for PETA.
  • Morrissey got an official okay from PETA after eating at a steakhouse.
  • Dita von Teese has written about her love of furs and foie gras.
  • Steve-O built a career on abusing small animals on film.
  • The officially “anti-fur” Eva Mendes has worn fur anyway.

Black Lives Matter – BLM

Anti-American Corrupt Racist-Marxist Organization

Why is this important: Although BLM states that their mission is to address systemic racism and violence against Black people, their mission could not be further from the truth. The data shows that the only Black lives that matter are crimes committed by non-Black people against Black people. BLM has no problem committing crimes and violence against Black people and businesses. BLM has never spoken on Black-on-Black crime and murder.

BLM believes that the greatest threat to Black people in this country are white Police Officers.

BLM was formed in 2013 in response to the acquittal of George Zimmerman who killed Trayvon Martin in Florida. BLM lavishly praised Cuban dictator Fidel Castro when he died.

The Facts

BLM claims to be nonviolent. That claim is far from the truth

In 2020 BLM has accounted for the following:

Dozens of deaths

Damage to thousands of businesses and properties. Many of these businesses are Black owned business. The same people they profess to want to help.

The arson, vandalism and looting has resulted in at least one to two billion dollars of paid insurance claims

BLM’s actions have further driven a wedge between races and cultures in this country.

Every year, about 6,000 Black people are murdered. This is a number greater than white and Hispanic homicide victims combined. Black people make up 13% of the national population. Black people are killed at a rate of six time more than whites and Hispanics.

In Los Angeles, Black people between the ages of 20-24 die at a rate of twenty -30 times the national average. These Black people are killed by other Black people. A fact that BLM seems to ignore.

Over the last 10 years, 40% of all Police killers are Black.

In New York City, Black people make up 23% of the population but commit 75% of the crime, 70% of all robberies and 66% of all violent crime. These are hard stats provided by the City of New York.

Ten children under the age of ten were killed in Baltimore last year. In Cleveland, three children under 5 years old were killed in September. On the 4th of July, a 7-year-old in Chicago was killed as the result of a drive by shooting. BLM ignored it because it was a Black on Black killing.

BLM is only interested in the rare instance that a Black person is killed by a White Police Officer. No matter what activity the Black person was involved in. BLM’s actions are examples of blatant racism.

BLM’s self-proclaimed Marxist, Executive Director Patrice Cullers was forced to resign her position after she purchased a $1.4 million property in a white Los Angeles neighborhood.

Cullers is a race hustler who made a fortune from making a false promise at the expense of the people she said she supported.

When Power and Control Replace Science

I would like to apologize for the length of this blog. It is important information concerning Covid-19. I prefer to call it the Wuhan Flu because traditionally, flu’s or viruses are named after their place of origin. Unfortunately, this like many other things have been subject to political correctness, for which I refuse to partake in.

I have been researching what the experts – the doctor’s and scientists have found in their research of Wuhan Flu and have found that the politicians who have been critical of those who are not following the science have in fact not been following the science themselves. Instead using the pandemic as a political weapon causing unnecessary panic and deaths. The following is the second of my reports on this topic. The first “When The Cure Is Worse Than The Disease” can be found in my blog.

The information contained within is a summary from a panel presentation on October 9, 2020 in Omaha, Nebraska, at the Hillsdale Free Market Forum. Dr. Bhattacharya’s remarks are also printed in “Imprimis” a publication of Hillsdale College. I wanted to summarize the summary, if you will, so the information is disseminated to everyone who cares to read the facts. This will should put to rest the argument of those who say “listen to the doctors, listen to the scientists and not the economics.” Here is some info on Dr. Bhattacharya.

Dr. Jay Bhattacharya is a Professor of Medicine at the prestigious Stanford University. He also has a Ph.D. in economics. His Curriculum Vitae is impressive and undisputed. Do No Harm. The data is presented by Dr. Bhattacharya. My comments will be presented in parentheses.

Originally case fatality rates were based on the number of hospitalizations and associated deaths.

(Not to mention that in cities like New York and Philadelphia any patient that had Wuhan but died of something else were counted as Wuhan deaths)

In April Dr. Bhattacharya conducted a study in his hometown of Santa Clara, California. At that time there were about 1000 cases identified, but Dr. Bhattacharya’s study showed that there were 50,000 cases that did not require hospitalization. 50 times more than were reported. This dropped the early fatality rate to 0.2 – 0.3% (an inconvenient truth to the democrat politicians who saw this as a way to exploit the 2020 elections by wreaking havoc on the populous. I can remember when Dr. Bhattacharya reported his findings in the April – May timeframe and he was roundly criticized at the time. It just didn’t fit the current political narrative.)

There are currently 82 studies around the world using Dr. Bhattacharya’s methodology, and when the median is taken, the studies proved the same results a 0.2 – 0.3% death rate.

In different cities, the rates are different. In NYC 0.5% death rate indicating that Governor Cuomo lied about the death rate. In Idaho a far more sparsely populated area death rate is 0.13%

Covid is not equally dangerous to everyone. There is a thousand-fold difference between a 70+ year old and the mortality rate of children. In fact, Wuhan is less dangerous to children than the seasonal flu. (although in most democrat run states schools are closed). With the 70+ aged people the seasonal flu mortality rate is 2% whereas with Wuhan it is 4%.

The UN reports that because of the economic damage that has been created by the lockdowns 130 million more people will starve this year.

The data also indicates that parents are not taking their children for their normal vaccinations in fear of Wuhan, putting at risk 80 million children of catching deadly preventable diseases. Large amount of cancer patients are skipping Chemo treatments in fear of Wuhan. One in four adults between the ages of 18 – 24 have seriously contemplated suicide. (Humans are social mammals especially at that age range. We are not built to be sequestered from others.)

Back to me.

Dr Bhattacharya, Dr. Sunetra Gupta and Dr. Martin Kulldorff of Harvard University. Dr’s from varying backgrounds and political position met (No one can say that the agreement was partisan) and agreed that the widespread lockdown has been a devastating public Health mistake. But still the politicians insist on locking us down.

The three doctors put together what they called “The Great Barrington Declaration” Which I have copied and paste below. It represents a comprehensive medical and scientific approach to managing the Wuhan Flu. Anything is is pure rubbish.

It can also be found at I would also urge you to visit the site and sign the declaration yourself.

The Great Barrington Declaration

The Great Barrington Declaration – As infectious disease epidemiologists and public health scientists we have grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the prevailing COVID-19 policies and recommend an approach we call Focused Protection.

Coming from both the left and right, and around the world, we have devoted our careers to protecting people. Current lockdown policies are producing devastating effects on short and long-term public health. The results (to name a few) include lower childhood vaccination rates, worsening cardiovascular disease outcomes, fewer cancer screenings and deteriorating mental health – leading to greater excess mortality in years to come, with the working class and younger members of society carrying the heaviest burden. Keeping students out of school is a grave injustice.

Keeping these measures in place until a vaccine is available will cause irreparable damage, with the underprivileged disproportionately harmed.

Fortunately, our understanding of the virus is growing. We know that vulnerability to death from COVID-19 is more than a thousand-fold higher in the old and infirm than the young. Indeed, for children, COVID-19 is less dangerous than many other harms, including influenza.

As immunity builds in the population, the risk of infection to all – including the vulnerable – falls. We know that all populations will eventually reach herd immunity – i.e.  the point at which the rate of new infections is stable – and that this can be assisted by (but is not dependent upon) a vaccine. Our goal should therefore be to minimize mortality and social harm until we reach herd immunity.

The most compassionate approach that balances the risks and benefits of reaching herd immunity, is to allow those who are at minimal risk of death to live their lives normally to build up immunity to the virus through natural infection, while better protecting those who are at highest risk. We call this Focused Protection.

Adopting measures to protect the vulnerable should be the central aim of public health responses to COVID-19. By way of example, nursing homes should use staff with acquired immunity and perform frequent PCR testing of other staff and all visitors. Staff rotation should be minimized. Retired people living at home should have groceries and other essentials delivered to their home. When possible, they should meet family members outside rather than inside. A comprehensive and detailed list of measures, including approaches to multi-generational households, can be implemented, and is well within the scope and capability of public health professionals.

Those who are not vulnerable should immediately be allowed to resume life as normal. Simple hygiene measures, such as hand washing and staying home when sick should be practiced by everyone to reduce the herd immunity threshold. Schools and universities should be open for in-person teaching. Extracurricular activities, such as sports, should be resumed. Young low-risk adults should work normally, rather than from home. Restaurants and other businesses should open. Arts, music, sport and other cultural activities should resume. People who are more at risk may participate if they wish, while society as a whole enjoys the protection conferred upon the vulnerable by those who have built up herd immunity.

On October 4, 2020, this declaration was authored and signed in Great Barrington, United States, by:

Dr. Martin Kulldorff, professor of medicine at Harvard University, a biostatistician, and epidemiologist with expertise in detecting and monitoring infectious disease outbreaks and vaccine safety evaluations.

Dr. Sunetra Gupta, professor at Oxford University, an epidemiologist with expertise in immunology, vaccine development, and mathematical modeling of infectious diseases.

Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, professor at Stanford University Medical School, a physician, epidemiologist, health economist, and public health policy expert focusing on infectious diseases and vulnerable populations.

When the Cure is Worse Than the Disease

Recently we Californian’s have witnessed our leaders do the exact opposite of what we were by executive order were told to do. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had her hair styled at a shop that was supposed to be closed because of the Wuhan Flu and when Nancy was caught, she claimed that she was set up by the shop owner.  Last week California Governor Gavin Newsom (Nancy’s nephew, by the way) was caught having a wonderful evening at the French Laundry in the Napa Valley with several people. Not outside but inside. No one was wearing masks or practicing social distancing.

The problem arises because Nancy and Governor Newsom have told us to do just the opposite. It seems that the Democrats operate under the axiom of “It’s easier to ask for forgiveness than follow the rules.” Personally, I am sick and tired of being treated like cow in a herd of cattle. Mr. Newson says that he is following the science. Unfortunately, the CDC provides an inconvenient truth.

  1. People under the age of 49 have a 99.9 percent of recovery.
  2. 40% of people infected have no idea they have it as they show no symptoms.
  3. Healthy people over 70 have 94.6% of recovery. The other 5.4% have compromised conditions.
  4. Elderly people have a much higher percent of infection and death but the government collects these people in homes with infected patients. Governor Cuomo of New York is responsible for so many deaths of elderly.
  5. Children have a very small infection rate although our officials close the schools. It is a historical fact that it is easier to control an uneducated population. So why not allow our children an “uneducation”
  6. 80% of all transmissions happen in the home, but we close all the beaches, public parks and other places outdoors
  7. Large businesses are given a free pass and are allowed to make huge profits when the backbone of America the little guy is left to suffer and become unemployed because their businesses cannot survive being closed.

A good friend of mine who is a experience nurse in a large metropolitan hospital wrote to me pointing out the following:

The collateral damage is huge much larger than the disease:

  1. Suicides are at record numbers
  2. Depression and Opioid addiction
  3. Alcoholism
  4. Domestic Abuse
  5. Increase in homicides
  6. Children suffering from the lack of socializing

Recently, Governor Newsom has issued a curfew for 10pm like the Wuhan Flu knows how to tell time. He allows restaurants with bars to remain open, but bars must close. This damn Wuhan virus must be the smartest virus of all time if it can tell the difference between a restaurant with a bar from just a bar. We must put our masks on between taking a bite of food in a restaurant.

In the beginning I understood and supported shutting everything down until we understood what we were dealing with. After we understood, uncommon sense took over.

We are intelligent adults. Each day we weigh the consequences of our actions, our safety and our own common sense and then act accordingly. This is exactly what we should be allowed to do today. I will be damned if I will follow Governor Newsom’s Thanksgiving orders:

  1. Must be held outside
  2. Everyone must be six feet apart
  3. Can only last for two hours
  4. There shall be no singing

Please Please Please tell me how this makes any sense at all. Especially Governor Newsom can’t  follow his own rules.

Is help on its way? Mr. Biden says he will help states get through this when, in fact, the best thing he could do is sit in a dark corner and be keep his mouth shut.

Fools with power become tyrants. No Governor Newsom, we will not follow your orders.

Long Live the Cause of Freedom – Churchill – 75th Anniversary of Victory in Europe Day May 8, 2020

Tired, confident, and jubilant, Prime Minister Winston Churchill sat at his place in the cabinet room at Number 10 Downing street. Steadying himself, Winston announced to the British people and the Empire that the war in Europe was over. The Germans unconditionally surrendered. May 8th would be VE day – Victory in Europe! After a short period of celebration all military operations would refocus to the pacific and the eventual defeat of the Empire of Japan.

Adolf Hitler, sick with watching his Third Reich crushed, and with the Soviet Union bearing down on Berlin, killed himself a few days before on April 30th.  Der Fuhrer, the man who had sights on populating the world with his master race, took the easy way out.

This moment in time, this grand moment in the history of the victory for freedom was an accumulation of the greatest generation who heard the call and traveled halfway around the world for the sake of freedom and liberty. It was the Courage of the British people, rallied by Churchill, across their empire and the might of the Americans who defended freedom against a madman the likes that had not been seen for centuries.

Let’s also not forget the thousands of resistance fighters across Europe who risked their lives and the lives of their families to live free again.

According to the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, Louisiana, listed are the death toll of the major combatants:

Military                              Civilians

Germany            5,500,000                           2,000,000

Italy                   301,000                              460,000

Japan                 2,000,000                           700,000

United States     420,000                                12,000

Great Britain      385,000                              67,000

France                220,000                              390,000

Soviet Union     9,000,000                           7,000,000

Think about it – In total, all Allied and Axis forces combined with Civilians – 70,000,000 people lost their lives in World War II.

We must not forget the murder of 6 million of our Jewish brothers and sisters at the hands of the Gestapo and all the odious apparatus of the Nazi rule.

Churchill was the lion of the 20th Century. Many said that his greatest contribution to the War was that he did not lose it. He hung on until help arrived. Churchill and Britain were not like the weary boxer, leaning in the corner of the ring, with his gloves covering his face. No! that was never Churchill’s style, the British took to the air defended their island home! They did their best to attack the Germans whenever they could.

When Goering and the Luftwaffe could not put the British on bended knee, the Nazi’s turned east. The victory of the Battle of Britain, won by “The Few,” as Churchill said in a speech honoring the men of the Spitfires and Hurricanes, was the turning point of the war.

Everyday our freedoms and liberties are being challenged. Ronald Reagan said in a speech that the loss of freedom is only one generation away. He was right.

On May 8th, please take a moment and raise your glass, filled with your favorite beverage, and give thanks to that greatest of generations and to Sir Winston Churchill who roared like a lion defending the cause of freedom.

“Long live the cause of freedom…” – Winston Churchill

Demolition of History and Heroes

Culture is a difficult thing to change. It may be easier to destroy. To properly send culture into an upheaval requires the control of the educational system, teaching revisionist history, defaming the heroes and what they stood for and command the power of the language. A good example of controlling the language:  Illegal Alien = Illegal Immigrant = undocumented Immigrant = migrant. Refining the language into the phony idea of Political Correctness is foundational to undermining the freedom of the English-speaking people.

Our Founding Fathers, most notably George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Benjamin Franklin, set forth on a grand experiment. Freedom and Liberty. A government ruled by the people.

Washington and Jefferson have become targets of the left for the sole reason of being slave owners. Set aside what they accomplished; it no longer matters. This revision is being taught in many of our public school systems today. Not that the Founding Fathers built our country and put their lives on the line for freedom and liberty, but that they were bad people because they owned slaves.

I have not understood why John Adams has not become a hero of the left. He refused to own slaves.  He supported big central government and was willing to stretch or break the meaning of the constitution. It was those actions that contributed to the end of the friendship between John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson’s crafty political maneuvering allowing him to defeat Adams in his bid for a second term did not help either.  Although I do not agree with many of Adam’s political actions, I do admire him all the same. If it were not for his angry persistence for freedom, our nation might have never come to be.

In many states, we are witnessing the removal of historical icons and history books are being revised because of the pervasive, “That triggers me, makes me feel sad, please take it away.” culture that has infected us like a virus. Helicopter parents who raise their children ready made for “Safe Spaces.”

Good examples of this are the “Safe Spacers” wanting to remove any reference to American Indians. Images of proud warriors and chiefs are being removed, History is being made to bend because of perceived exploitation and terrors inflicted on our American Indian brothers and sisters by the white man. (Read angry white male.) There are Confederate statues across the southern and eastern parts of our country being demolished.  Somehow the Safe Spacers and left socialist supporters believe that if you remove the statue, it erases an unfortunate part of our history. The icons should remain to remind us that we cannot let it happen again.

Teaching revisionist history could be the deadliest sin of all. Every person of historical note has their own set of foibles. We are humans, after all. Without a solid understanding of REAL history, we will become the buffoons of the future – we well may already down that path.  Without a historical foundation, our freedoms will crumble right before our eyes.

We The People are the only ones that can stop this.

Books below are excellent reads about John Adams and Thomas Jefferson
